Packing Essentials

Health & Wellness

  • Personal medications and supplements (bring enough for your full stay, including any prescriptions)

  • Hydration support – electrolytes like Liquid I.V. or Nuun are especially helpful at high altitude

  • High-SPF sunscreen – the sun in Mexico City is stronger due to the high elevation

  • Sun protection accessories: sunglasses, wide-brimmed hat or cap

Proactive Gut Health Tip: Let’s talk about the elephant in the (bath)room — Montezuma’s Revenge. This colorfully named condition is a common case of traveler’s stomach, usually caused by unfamiliar bacteria in food or water. It tends to pop up when visiting developing countries. While typically mild, on a shorter trip it would be a shame to lose a day to discomfort — especially when there’s mezcal to sip and markets to explore!

Megan follows a pre-travel probiotic routine, brings papaya enzymes (available at Whole Foods), and for short trips sometimes uses a preventative Pepto-Bismol regimen (4 tablets a day, each before a meal) — which studies show can reduce the risk of traveler’s diarrhea. Always consult your doctor first, especially if you’re on other medications. Read more here: Harvard Health: Traveler’s Stomach

If anything does come up, we have a trusted local doctor in Mexico City who can assist with any medical needs — including antibiotics if necessary.

Clothing & Technology

  • Comfortable walking shoes

  • Casual daywear (breathable fabrics)

  • Sun protection – sunglasses, hat, and sunscreen

  • Reusable water bottle (we’ll provide filtered water to refill)

  • Small day bag – fanny pack, crossbody, or compact backpack for outings
